A year to be friends...

It took a year for us to realize we were best friends. My ex-girlfriend and I actually met one year ago today; on Myspace of all places. She saw a picture of me doing Eddie from the Rocky Horror Picture Show and decided to message me. I was intrigued, so I messaged her back and we started a dialogue. It ended when I had to go to work, with the knowledge we would talk more the next day; and we did. The next day came more messages and more playful flirting. At the time, she worked second shift and I worked third, so we decided to meet up at Denny’s for a bite to eat. I sat there and did what I normally did, I rambled. But she listened. She listened with her hands together under her chin when she wasn’t eating and she was looking at me the entire time. I loved her face, her long, curly hair and her smile. Man I loved that smile. We parted with a kiss that night and I went to work and she went home.

The next few months garnered sad and happy times. Two weeks after we got together, she lost her job and got in a car accident within the same day (if I remember correctly). She stayed over at my place a lot because she did not want to sit in her place by herself all the time. Another month later we were moved in together. I then left my cushy job to go to her new job and I hated it. It caused a problem and we broke up... a lot of variables.

We got back together a few weeks later and split soon again. We actually did that a few times from August-January. We got back together in mid-January and broke up in mid-April. We were good at the sex part; we are great at the friendship between us; but the relationship part? It didn’t work and I realized it and decided to end it, for good this time.

It took her a few days, but then she realized her begging was doing no good like it had before and she knew she wanted to keep our friendship, so we are now friends. She is someone I feel completely comfortable around in every facet; the relationship just did not work.

We both feel good about this and we are now happy as friends. It only took us a year... today.

    This is me...

Well, this wizard thing asked me to post an introductory blog... so here is my "bio" from my College class...

My name is John Patrick II and I live in Wichita, Kansas.  I have lived in Wichita my entire life, but it is one of those places that are a good place to live, but not that great to visit. I guess that is just my opinion, but hey, what can I say?  I have been divorced since 2000 (I got married young) and I practice Wicca.

My main interests are music and writing.  I am an avid karaoke singer and in fact will finally be hosting my own show in a couple of weeks.  I write different types of things from roleplays to fanfics and am starting to write a novel.  I am also very much into the computer and do things from play games to run message boards.

I work for a company called Source 1, but I am temped there at the moment with a company called Staffmark.  Source 1 is a company owned by Johnson Controls, who also owns York International, and they manufacture parts for heating and air conditioning units.  What I do is take calls from distributors and give them pricing and availability on parts they need.

I am involved in a shadowcast; a shadowcast is a group that performs something in front of the movie actually playing.  That movie would be the Rocky Horror Picture Show.  I have played both the Criminologist (the narrator) and Eddie (played by Meatloaf).  I have been doing that since 2005 and it is something I very much enjoy; being on the stage.  This group is like a family to me.  I also play Dungeons and Dragons and have been doing that since 2004, it is a fun game to play and I enjoy the fantasy aspect of it.

I am going through Axia College and University of Phoenix to become a teacher.  I want to teach history to either middle or high school students.

Hah. I actually didn't end up going. I wanted to, but something came up, so I couldn't. Oh well. They told me on the boards that not many people showed up, so I'll just go to the next one... : P
